stevenloi · 1 year agoNice observation. I think you nailed it on the spot when you mentioned problems resurface "due to technological change or heightened consumer expectation." I want to add to that to make it a sustainable business, the company must constantly offer their best offerings and at a competitive price. Failure to constantly stay up-to-date with the market demands creates this ever-revolving cycle of me-too's. Recent news regarding AOL's decision to "sell off" under performing assets, one of which is their X-Drive, is a perfect example. They paid $35M for it and now willing to sell for $5M to get rid of it.
